The Fraud: it doesn’t just happen to others workshop introduces participants to the most common fraud techniques and how to recognize them. It also introduces participants to the appropriate resources for reporting attempted fraud.
Note: Fraud: it doesn’t just happen to others is an introductory workshop on the legal aspects of fraud. It is not recommended for those who wish to deepen their already existing knowledge.
Learning objectives
At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand what fraud is.
- Recognize common fraud techniques.
- Identify the steps for reporting fraud.
Workshop content
The workshop is based on fictional scenarios, inspired by different fraud schemes. To make the workshop more relatable, the workshop facilitator will select the two most relevant scenarios to the audience.
- Scenario 1: Romance
- Scenario 2: Phishing
- Scenario 3: Immigration
- Scenario 4: Online purchases
- Scenario 5: A loved one in trouble
- Scenario 6: Risky investments
